BICSI Codes Workgroup

The Codes Workgroup monitors the codes which affect the building and information and communications technology (ICT) communities. The workgroup influences these codes by preparing proposals that maintain the necessary levels of safety, while removing undue or unnecessary requirements.

While the primary activity of the Codes Workgroup focuses on contributing to the ongoing review and revision of NFPA 70, National Electrical Code^®¸the workgroup, through its membership, also monitors and contributes to codes and safety documents, such as NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, NFPA 75, Standard for the Fire Protection of Information Technology Equipment, IEEE C2, National Electric Safety Code and the CSA C22, Canadian Electrical Code.

In addition to contributing to externally approved standards, the Codes Workgroup also contributes to the entirety of BICSI’s publications and standards, acts as a technical resource for BICSI’s training courses and presents at various BICSI conferences and events.
